I've never seen this show, but a friend of mine told me about this Brit Comedy. Don't think it's made its way to PBS in KS yet, but I'll look for it. It's on Channel 7 at 6pm on Saturday, 3/29/08.

A neighbor and employee of the "Brits" shop in Lawrence, KS, told us they carry DVD's for rent of Vicar of Dibley. He knew we are huge fans of the 1990's British comedy, Absolutely Fabulous, or 'Ab Fab.'
Ab Fab was created by the brilliant comedy team of Jennifer Saunders (plays lead character Edina, or 'Eddie' - she also plays the fairy godmother and mother of the blonde Prince in SHREK) and Dawn French.
Dawn French plays Rev. Geraldine Granger in Vicar of Dibley, which I noticed seems to be in the PBS lineup currently as part of a Brit comedy night.
Speaking of knights and such, supposedly French and Saunders declined Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) honors "for services to comedy drama" in 2001. They are such bad girls.
Ab Fab is not for the faint of heart. The episodes can be enjoyed over and over, and sometimes it takes numberous viewings to catch the quick exchanges.
Here's a short scene from Ab Fab, featuring Eddie, her daughter Saffron or 'Saffy,' her secretary 'Bubble,' and her hilarious sidekick (kind of the Vivian Vance to Eddie's Lucille Ball - but all coked up and high fashion. This will convey the flavor of this dizzy show.

Finally, here are some great "Personal Quotes" from Dawn French, on imdb.com --
"Brit sitcom is usually good character observation and less gags. The Americans love the comedy to be high gag quota and slick."
"Fawlty Towers was an enormous favorite. I once laughed so hard with my dad at this series that I actually wet my pants and then my dad wet his. We were in genuine physical pain with laughing. Lovely."
"I am not, I repeat, NOT a lesbian-even though I'd like to be one when I grow up."
